AI training for small business, when the owner also does the work

AI training for small business has to start from one fact. The person who decides about AI is usually the same person doing the work. So you can skip the leadership workshop. You need a clear way to pick the first task, and then the skill to build it so it keeps working.

You are probably using AI already. In the 2025 Empowering Small Business report from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 58% of small businesses said they use generative AI. That was up from 40% in 2024. However, using a chat tool and handing a task over to AI are different jobs.

AI training for small business: join the executive cohort or train a small team

Two routes into AI training for small business

Pick by who will do the work after the training ends.

Join the Executive AI Cohort

The Executive AI Cohort is a small live course with leaders from other organizations. It runs as six 90-minute sessions on Zoom. Each session ends with an exercise on your own business. By the end, you know where AI fits in your work and where it should not go yet.

It suits you if you already use AI tools and people now expect AI decisions from you. It is not a coding course or a tool tutorial, and there are no recorded videos to watch alone. Instead of breakout rooms, the group works through live polls and a shared board. A cohort of 9 is running now, in fall 2026. Dates go to the waitlist first, and we can invoice your company directly.

Train a small team with Claude Code

If some of your people will build, Claude Code training gets them there. It starts with a kickoff workshop, then two to four working sessions on your own systems. Your team ships one real workflow during that time. They also know how to maintain it afterwards.

One person needs to be comfortable at a command line. Everyone else can be an expert in the work itself, because they write the procedures the agent follows. Before anyone builds, you write down what the agent may and may not do. Then it starts with the least access the task needs.

We teach from our own setup. AdTelic’s content for belizenewspost.com and artdesignideas.com runs through a seven-stage pipeline built with Claude Code. Every post still lands as a draft for a person to approve. We don’t build it for you, though. If you want a done-for-you build, see AI implementation.

AdTelic is Joe Post, and Joe takes the call himself. Bring one task you repeat every week, and he will tell you which route fits. Has your company grown past this stage? Then read AI training for mid-sized companies, or compare all five AI training programs.
